The Panorama Project is based on development of the Sulphur Springs copper-zinc orebody in Western Australia, approximately 160 km by road from Port Hedland. CBH's initial development plan was based on an open pit operation.
In 2009 CBH completed an initial underground scoping study on the Project based on a previous study by Outokumpu Zinc Australia Pty Limited completed in 2002. After favourable results of the study, SN Consulting reviewed the mining methodology and developed a capital and operating cost estimate for a 600,000tpa underground operation. In 2010 SN Consulting calculated an Ore Reserve of 3.9Mt at 6.2%Zn and 2.2%Cu based on underground mining as follows;
